Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for Mechanical and Electrical projects, based between the Pomeroy and Belfast offices. You will be a motivated and reliable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and collaborates well with project teams.

Responsibilities include contract review and negotiation, cost control, progress measurement, valuation of work, regular cost reports, risk mitigation, and clear client communication.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years post graduate experience in a QS role within the Construction Industry.
  • Able to work on their own or as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Applicants must have a clean driving license.
  • Self-motivated, with a 'can-do' approach to work and willingness to learn and assist.
  • Willing to travel to UK as required.

  • Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions.
  • Contract review and negotiation with Main Contractors/ Clients.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers on behalf of the company, ensuring competitive pricing and favourable terms.
  • Administer construction contracts in line with agreed terms and management of the payment processes.
  • Accurately measure and value work completed, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and financial statements, tracking project progress and identifying any potential budget deviations.
  • Identify and assess potential financial risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, keeping them informed about project costs, progress, and potential changes.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including project managers, engineers, and support services to ensure project success.
  • Conduct other duties as directed by management
