Job summary

Robert Hurst Group Ltd in Bath is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for Mechanical and Electrical projects. You will be based between the Pomeroy and Belfast offices, bringing enthusiasm to a fast-paced environment.

You will manage contracts, cost reporting, risk assessment, and payments, collaborating with project teams to deliver successful outcomes.

The role requires 5+ years post-graduate QS experience, strong analytical skills, and a driving license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years post graduate experience in a QS role within the Construction Industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Self-motivated with a can-do approach and willingness to learn and assist.
• Willing to travel to UK as required.
• Applicants must have a clean driving license.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-contract meetings and liaise with construction professionals to ensure timely completion of actions.
• Contract review and negotiation with Main Contractors/ Clients.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing and favourable terms.
• Administer construction contracts and manage the payment processes.
• Measure and value work accurately per contract specifications and drawings.
• Prepare cost reports and financial statements, monitoring progress and budget deviations.
• Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain client communication on costs, progress and changes.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and support services for project success.
• Conduct other duties as directed by management.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions.
• Contract review and negotiation with Main Contractors/ Clients
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers on behalf of the company, ensuring competitive pricing and favourable terms.
• Administer construction contracts in line with agreed terms and management of the payment processes.
• Accurately measure and value work completed, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and drawings.
• Prepare regular cost reports and financial statements, tracking project progress and identifying any potential budget deviations.
• Identify and assess potential financial risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, keeping them informed about project costs, progress, and potential changes.
• Collaborate with other team members, including project managers, engineers, and support services to ensure project success.
• Conduct other duties as directed by management
