Job summary

Apple Technical Recruitment (UK) is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (Groundworks) to join a busy East Anglia-based contractor's commercial team in Norwich. You will manage daily commercial functions from measurement, valuations and applications for payment to final accounts, with exposure to groundworks packages.

Working on projects from tender through to completion, you will contribute to pre-tender pricing, BOQs and cost control while supporting career progression toward commercial leadership.

Company & Project:

A successful Main Contractor with decades of experience in East Anglia are looking to grow their commercial team with a Quantity Surveyor specialising in groundworks packages.

With a busy pipeline of work across East Anglia they are looking to grow their Commercial team due to new projects secured and a healthy tender pipeline.

The business works across the Heritage, Mixed-Use, Private Residential, Commercial and Healthcare sectors.

The successful candidate will be joining the business working specifically in the commercial function of their groundworks team working on projects from early tender stages and pre-construction through to project completion.

With a clear structure and programme in place for their employees personal development, this role is a very good opportunity for a surveyor to have a clear pathway to commercial leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing daily commercial management functions, including but not limited to; measurement & valuations, applications for payment, reconciling accounts, dealing with sub-contract orders and enquiries, through to practical completion of the project and settling final accounts .

In addition to the above duties, from time to time the successful candidate would be expected to undertake estimating duties including pricing bids/tenders, bills of quantities and pre-tender site visits.

Desirable Experience

• Minimum 3 years+ experience as an QS working for a Groundworks Sub-Contractor or Main Contractor with Groundworks package management.
• Repeat experience working on groundwork packages or exclusively for a groundworks specialist.
• Degree, MSc or HNC in Quantity Surveying or comparable qualification.
• Previous Roles: Assistant Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Senior Quantity Surveyor OR Quantity Surveyor.
