Job summary

MMP Consultancy Limited is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our client's Asset & Property team in Ashington. This permanent role requires robust financial control and value-for-money delivery across a substantial housing portfolio.

You will manage day-to-day QS functions, oversee contracts, valuations and final accounts, and support procurement and tendering activities. Chartered status or degree qualification with relevant experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Chartered status, degree qualification, or significant relevant experience within Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Strong track record of delivering quantity surveying services within the construction sector.
• Experience of procurement, project management, contract administration, and budget management.
• Ability to analyse complex commercial and financial data and provide clear recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day quantity surveying and contract administration functions across planned investment and asset projects.
• Prepare, review, and administer contracts, valuations, variations, certifications, and final accounts.
• Support procurement and tendering activities, including preparation of tender documentation and pricing schedules.
• Monitor contract performance, project completions, cashflow, budgets, and commercial outcomes.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess project progress and commercial performance.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial and operational risks.
• Attend and represent the client at pre-start, progress, partnership, and commercial review meetings.
• Support the ongoing development and integration of commercial and asset management systems.
• Contribute to service improvements, efficiencies, and social value initiatives across the business.
