Job summary

Sellick Partnership is hiring a Quantity Surveyor in Durham with hybrid working (2 days from home). The role offers a base salary of £50,479 per year plus a £2,142 car allowance, equating to £52,621 annually before tax, for a 37-hour week on a permanent basis.

You will provide commercial support across maintenance and investment projects, ensuring budgets are met, risks are managed, and value for money is achieved throughout the project lifecycle. Social housing experience would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record in contract administration, procurement and budget management in construction.
  • Relevant professional qualification or degree with substantial experience in quantity surveying.

Responsibilities

  • Manage valuations, variations, certifications and final accounts.
  • Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual and financial requirements.
  • Monitor budgets, cashflow and commercial performance across projects.
  • Assist with tender documentation, pricing schedules and procurement activities.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections of works in progress.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement and deliver value for money across projects.

Quantity Surveyor

Durham | Hybrid Working (2 Days from Home)
£50,479 per annum + £2,142 Car Allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing asset management team delivering a significant programme of planned investment works across residential properties and communities. With a substantial capital investment programme underway, this role offers the chance to make a real impact while benefiting from flexible hybrid working arrangements.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing commercial and contractual support across a range of planned maintenance and investment projects. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget, risks are effectively managed, and value for money is achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:
  • Managing valuations, variations, certifications and final accounts.
  • Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual and financial requirements.
  • Monitoring budgets, cashflow and commercial performance.
  • Assisting with tender documentation, pricing schedules and procurement activities.

The Successful Quantity Surveyor will have:
  • Chartered status, a relevant degree, or substantial equivalent experience in a similar position.
  • A proven track record in quantity surveying, contract administration, procurement and budget management within the construction sector.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within social housing or property investment projects would be advantageous.
