Job summary

The Abbey is seeking a QA Technician to join its Staffordshire site, focusing on inspection of components and assemblies and ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards. You will read drawings, use measuring tools, maintain quality records, and support investigations and continuous improvement with the production team.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA/Inspector roles within manufacturing or engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with inspection equipment and measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with quality documentation and computer skills.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first-off, in-process and final inspections of components and assemblies.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to verify requirements.
• Perform dimensional inspections using verniers, micrometres, height gauges and other tools.
• Complete and maintain inspection reports and quality records.
• Raise and support investigations into non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
• Assist with internal quality audits and process checks.
• Ensure all documentation is controlled and maintained per procedures.
• Liaise with production, engineering and management on quality issues.
• Assist with customer and supplier quality matters as required.
• Support implementation and maintenance of quality standards and systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
