Job summary

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is seeking a Quality Technician to maintain and improve workshop quality systems, ensuring compliance with quality standards and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with manufacturing engineers and teams to run audits, manage non-conformances, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver actionable improvements across aerospace, automotive, and other sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing/engineering/workshop environment.
• Understanding of quality systems and ISO 9001 compliance.
• Experience supporting non-conformance management and problem solving.
• Knowledge of QA processes and internal audits.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support and reinforce compliance with quality standards, accreditations and workshop procedures.
• Maintain workshop quality systems, including document control and calibration records.
• Manage and coordinate non-conformance activities through to effective resolution.
• Facilitate robust root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Plan and conduct internal quality audits and monitor action completion.
• Track and report on key quality metrics and performance indicators.
• Identify trends and improvement opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Promote a positive quality culture focused on accountability, learning and continuous improvement.
