Job summary

Michael Page is helping a Powys-based British manufacturer recruit a senior Quality/Technical leader with manufacturing experience. You will lead the Quality Management System (ISO 9001/IATF16949), act as customer quality champion, drive audits, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement to reduce non-conformance.

You will develop quality KPIs, manage supplier quality, support APQP and new product introduction, and promote a culture of quality ownership while ensuring ISO 14001 and ISO

Qualifications

  • Proven quality management experience in manufacturing, engineering or automotive.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality principles.
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement and reducing non-conformance.
  • Strong problem solving using 8D, RCA, PFMEA and SPC.
  • Experience leading audit programmes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 advantageous.
  • Strong HSE knowledge/experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

My client is a market leading British manufacturer, that have been in the area closing in on 100 years. Now part of a global structure, they are experts in the design, prototyping & manufacture of high-quality products, that they supply to customers globally.

Description
  • Leading and developing the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001/IATF16949 requirements.
  • Acting as the customer quality champion, managing customer audits, complaints and quality performance metrics.
  • Driving root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventative actions across the business.
  • Leading internal and external audit programmes.
  • Developing quality KPIs and reporting performance to the Managing Director
  • Supporting new product introduction and APQP activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve process capability and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Managing supplier quality performance and improvement initiatives.
  • Promoting a culture of quality ownership across all departments.
  • Providing oversight of site HSE systems to ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.Profile
Profile

You will be a strong senior leader, ideally a Quality/Technical bias with manufacturing experience, along with:

  • Proven Quality Management experience within manufacturing, engineering or automotive environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management principles.
  • A track record of driving continuous improvement and reducing non-conformance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills using methodologies such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA and SPC.
  • Experience managing quality systems and leading audit programmes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 would be advantageous
  • Strong HSE knowledge/experience would be advantageous
Job Offer
  • Up to £60,000/annum
  • Permanent position based in Powys, Wales
