Job summary

PPG Industries in Shildon seeks a QC Methods Engineer to oversee administration, compliance and continuous improvement of Quality Control processes. You will be the SME for QC management systems, training, calibration management and root cause investigations.

Collaborating with QC, QA, Process, S&T and Operations, you will drive data‑driven improvements and support site quality goals. You will report to the QC Manager and contribute to ongoing departmental projects.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in a Quality Control environment.
• Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 or similar standards.
• Experience in highly regulated environments (Pharma/Food/labs).
• Experience using data to drive improvements and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Manage QC procedures, SOPs and metrics in the electronic Quality Management System (ETQ).
• Support QC systems including ETQ, QPulse, LIMS and associated sample management tools.
• Lead root cause investigations using structured problem‑solving methods (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D, PDCA).
• Plan, conduct and support internal audits of quality systems, documentation and safety.
