Job summary

Williams F1 Team in the United Kingdom seeks a Quality Inspection Manager who will report to the Head of Manufacturing and lead a team of 4 Team Leaders, along with 21 quality staff, service technicians and apprentices, to drive excellence in Quality Control.

You will champion LEAN and continuous improvement, align quality objectives with business strategy, manage talent and budgets, and collaborate with Design, Methods Engineering and Engineering to resolve inspection and manufacturability

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience leading teams in a Quality Inspection or operations environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop team of Team Leaders, technicians and apprentices to foster operational excellence.
  • Align Quality department goals with long-term corporate objectives with senior leadership.
  • Coordinate technological initiatives between Engineering and Operations to boost capabilities.
  • Promote accountability and upskilling to achieve KPIs.
  • Manage talent activities: skills matrices, recruitment, training, engagement, performance, succession.
  • Drive employee engagement through open communication and training alignment.
  • Implement LEAN principles with CI team to improve efficiency.
  • Assist budgeting and forecasting with Head of Manufacturing and Finance.
  • Collaborate with Design, Methods Engineering and Manufacturing on manufacturability and inspection challenges; liaise with suppliers on quality standards.
  • Implement and manage calibration processes and information databases.
  • Lead on process adherence, asset ownership and SOPs; contribute to QA vision.
