Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead strategic initiatives across the business, driving efficiency, quality and performance in a world-class manufacturing environment. You will coach engineers, develop capability and champion standardised processes with measurable ROI.

As a senior member of the Operational Excellence team you will influence stakeholders at all levels, evaluate new technologies and build robust business cases for improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement in manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical skills with structured problem-solving.
  • Experience designing and delivering training or coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact CI projects from concept to implementation and benefits.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma to reduce waste and lead times.
  • Standardize processes and implement visual management and metrics across departments.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver CI training programmes for engineers and teams.
  • Coach CI engineers and support capability development.
  • Evaluate new technologies and automation opportunities.
  • Build business cases with ROI and Capex justifications.
  • Influence stakeholders to secure engagement and drive change.
  • Share best practices to strengthen CI capability across Williams F1 Team.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team. This is a highly influential role for a passionate improvement professional who thrives on solving complex business challenges, developing others, and delivering measurable operational performance gains in a world-class manufacturing environment.

The Opportunity

As a senior member of the Continuous Improvement team, you will lead strategic improvement initiatives across the business, driving efficiency, quality, productivity and performance. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and the Race Team, you will identify opportunities, challenge the status quo and deliver sustainable change that directly impacts our ability to compete.

This role is ideal for an experienced Lean practitioner who combines analytical thinking with strong stakeholder management and a genuine passion for coaching others.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading high-impact Continuous Improvement projects from concept through to implementation and benefit realisation.
  • Applying advanced Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste, improve flow and reduce lead times.
  • Driving process standardisation, visual management and performance measurement across multiple departments.
  • Leading root cause investigations and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Developing and delivering CI training programmes to engineers, CI Champions and manufacturing teams.
  • Coaching and mentoring Continuous Improvement Engineers and supporting capability development across the organisation.
  • Evaluating new technologies, automation opportunities and process innovations that support operational excellence.
  • Building robust business cases, including ROI and Capex justifications for improvement initiatives.
  • Influencing stakeholders at all levels to secure engagement and drive successful change.

Qualifications
What We're Looking For

You’ll be a confident improvement leader with a proven track record of delivering measurable results within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential
  • Degree qualified in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Significant experience in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence or Process Improvement roles.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience designing and delivering training, coaching or development programmes.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience using tools such as Minitab, Power BI and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience within motorsport, aerospace or other high-performance manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of Formula 1 Cost Cap regulations and operational requirements.
