Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Quality Manager for a sheetmetal/fabrication environment in Cranfield, Bedford. The role combines site management with hands-on quality tasks, covering supplier quality, PFMEA, and QMS maintenance.

You will lead a small team of engineers and inspectors, ensuring welding certifications are current and quality procedures meet stringent standards. Travel to client projects and suppliers may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small team of quality professionals on site.
• Maintain and improve the QMS across fabrication operations.
• Oversee welding qualifications and relevant standards.
• Manage PFMEA, Control Plans and Corrective Actions.
• Coordinate supplier quality and customer quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of quality professionals (Inspectors to Engineers).
• Maintain all quality procedures on site and supplier quality.
• Keep QMS and welding certifications up to date.
• Shape the role with autonomy to introduce improvements.
• Manage PFMEA, Control Plans & RCA and customer complaints.
