Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Quality Manager with a sheet metal or fabrication background to lead a small team of quality professionals at a local Cranfield site. The role blends hands-on quality work with strategic development of the site QMS and supplier quality processes.

You will oversee PFMEA, control plans and associated RCAs, maintain relevant welding certifications, and drive continuous improvement across fabrication operations within a globally respected engineering group.

Competenze

• Experience as Quality Manager or similar in sheet metal or fabrication.
• Background in Welding, Sheetmetal or regulated engineering (Nuclear, Defence, Rail).
• Ability to maintain QMS and welding certifications.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans and RCA.

Mansioni

• Lead a small team of Quality professionals, from Inspectors to Engineers.
• Ultimately responsible for all Quality procedures on site and supplier quality.
• Maintain the QMS and relevant fabrication and welding certifications.
• Shape the role into your own – autonomy to introduce and improve procedures.
• Manage all quality activities including PFMEA, Control Plans & RCA.
• Monday – Friday, 37.5 Hours per week, TOIL & Overtime options for excess hours.

Are you Quality Manager or similar from a Sheetmetal or Welding/Fabrication background looking to lead a small team of Engineers and Inspectors for a business that can offer a highly autonomous and rewarding role?

Do you want to join smaller function of a premier Engineering business that can offer the opportunity to work on projects of national significance?

In this role you will be split between management and hands‑on, primarily covering a local site with travel to client projects and suppliers when needed. You will handle supplier quality; be responsible for maintaining the QMS; relevant welding accreditations and overseeing PFMEA, Control plans and any customer quality complaints. This is a great opportunity to play a significant part in the supply of fabricated products to highly regulated industries.
