Job summary

Glue Resourcing is seeking a Quality Control Manager for a respected food manufacturing client near Daventry, UK. The role focuses on leading quality, audits, compliance, and staff development within a small-to-mid sized team.

You will oversee internal and external audits, maintain quality documentation, and drive continuous improvement across processes and supplier interactions. A strong background in HACCP and BRC is preferred, with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Quality assurance experience required.

  • Food hygiene certification required.

  • HACCP training or certification.
  • BRC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all products comply with food, feed safety, quality and legality requirements.
  • Carry out weekly/monthly audits and review records for compliance.
  • Produce ad-hoc quality reports and summaries.
  • Maintain and update the quality manual and procedures.
  • Update and maintain company documents and records.
  • Monitor customer requirements and approve special requests.
  • Plan and maintain quality procedures, policies and work instructions.
  • Ensure staff training and PPE provision is up to date.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and identify improvement trends.
  • Manage external audits (BRC, ORGANIC, TASCC, UFAS) and corrective actions.
  • Ensure internal audits are conducted as scheduled.
  • Inspect and quarantine non-conforming products and services.
  • Communicate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Disseminate appropriate standards across departments.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers via email/phone/in person.
  • Oversee pest control contracts and management onsite.
  • Oversee mycotoxin testing as per guidelines.
  • Monitor maintenance inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

Quality Control Manager

Location: Near Daventry

Salary: Competitive!

Shift: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hrs per week

Status: Permanent

Role Summary

Employing approx. 45 staff, our progressive client is seeking to recruit an outstanding individual who will play a pivotal role in managing quality, audits, compliance, internal and external clients, suppliers, and staff from a coaching/educating perspective. This role may suit someone seeking their next career move in terms of advancement or an experienced QC Manager seeking their next challenge.

Specific Duties
  • Ensure all products comply with food & feed safety, quality and legality requirements and ensure all staff comply with food & feed safety, quality and legality procedures and policies.
  • Ensure that weekly/monthly audits are carried out and review records generated by supervisory, team leaders and production line staff, and verify against company's best practice.
  • Complete ad‑hoc quality reports and summaries when required.
  • Control of the quality manual: updating, maintaining and ensuring company compliance with current legislation/customer/governing body standards.
  • Control of documents: updating and maintaining company documents, records/forms and ensuring correct usage.
  • Customer focus: monitoring of requirements and needs of customers; authorization of specific individual requirements.
  • Liaise and plan quality procedures, policies and work instructions: creating, maintaining and assisting in the production and amendment of procedures, policies and work instructions.
  • Ensure competence, awareness, and training. Ensure all staff have the correct training for their specific job and are provided with relevant P.P.E.
  • Communicate with customers: monitoring and measuring customer satisfaction and complaints; identify trends and patterns and use them for continuous improvement.
  • Manage external audits (BRC, ORGANIC, TASCC, UFAS). Maintain standards, identifying areas of non-conformity and advising where necessary of changes that need to be made.
  • Ensure internal audits are carried out as scheduled.
  • Control non-conforming product and service: inspect returned parts; quarantine infected stock.
  • Communicate corrective and preventive actions: investigate customer complaints where requested; supply reasons why errors occurred and identify and put in place actions to ensure these do not recur.
  • Control of internal and external standards: maintain and issue appropriate standards to required departments.
  • Deal with customers and suppliers: communicate via e-mail and telephone or in person with quality personnel from various suppliers and customers.
  • Responsible for pest control management on site—liaising with Site Manager and Managing Director to set up pest control contracts and ensure overall management of the contract.
  • Ensure that the management of mycotoxins testing is carried out correctly and according to specified guidelines.
  • Monitor/completion of maintenance inspection reports.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety Regulations in accordance with the Health & Safety Act 1999.
