Job summary

W Talent are partnering with a fast-paced manufacturing business located in Alfreton, Derbyshire to recruit a Quality Manager who will own the quality function across the business.

This hands-on role focuses on Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 9001, continuous improvement and driving quality standards throughout the operation, coordinating with Production and Engineering.

The successful candidate will lead audits, manage non-conformances and play a key role in shaping processes and culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing with Quality Engineering/Management.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and QMS.
• Experience conducting internal audits and managing corrective actions.
• Proven track record of driving process improvement and CI.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the Quality function across the business.
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure ongoing ISO 9001 compliance.
• Drive CI initiatives across manufacturing and business processes.

Quality Manager | Alfreton, Derbyshire | £40,000 - £50,000

W Talent are working with a fast-paced manufacturing business located Alfreton, Derbyshire who are looking to appoint a Quality Manager to take ownership of the quality function across the business.

This role would suit a Senior Quality Engineer who is ready to take the next step into a Quality Manager position, taking on greater responsibility and influence across the business. It would also suit an experienced Quality Manager looking for a new and exciting challenge in Alfreton within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Quality Manager Responsibilities

This is a hands-on role focused on Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001, continuous improvement and driving quality standards throughout the business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take real ownership of the quality function, working closely with Production, Health and Safety, Engineering and other key departments to identify areas for improvement, strengthen processes and drive a positive quality culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Quality function across the business.
• Manage, maintain and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and business processes.
• Identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering to improve quality, reduce defects and minimise repeat issues.
• Develop and improve quality processes, procedures and standards.
• Monitor key quality performance indicators and use data to identify areas for improvement.
• Lead internal audits and support external/customer audits.
• Manage non-conformances, corrective actions and customer complaints.
• Promote a strong quality culture across the manufacturing operation.
• Support the introduction and improvement of standard operating procedures and quality controls.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues on quality requirements and best practice.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and overall process performance.

Key Requirements

• The business is looking for someone who lives within a commutable distance of Alfreton, Derbyshire and is technically strong, commercially aware and enjoys making improvements rather than simply maintaining the status quo.
• Previous experience within a Quality Engineering or Quality Management role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
• Experience of conducting internal audits and managing corrective actions.
• A proven track record of driving process improvement and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience working closely with Production and Engineering teams.
• The confidence to challenge processes and drive improvements across the business.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Salary and Benefits
