Job summary

Castle Employment Group is sourcing a senior Quality Manager for a well‑established engineering and manufacturing business near Malton. This hands‑on leadership role oversees quality assurance and control across manufacture, assembly, testing and delivery.

You will drive QMS improvements, manage audits, and lead a team to achieve customer and supplier quality objectives while collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading quality across manufacturing, assembly and testing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality systems.
• Proven ability to drive audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA and QC across manufacturing, assembly and testing.
• Maintain and improve the QMS per ISO 9001 and standards.
• Manage internal and external audits and support certification.
• Lead customer quality activities including audits and performance reviews.
• Drive supplier quality improvements and supplier audits.
• Ensure traceability of materials and manufacturing records.
• Lead investigations into non-conformances and customer issues.
• Apply root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
• Oversee inspection, testing and final product acceptance.
• Develop and manage internal audit programme.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to improve supplier quality.
• Train colleagues on quality policies and processes.
• Develop and motivate the Quality team.
• Drive continuous improvement across products and processes.

Are you an experienced Quality Manager looking for the opportunity to take ownership of quality within a technically demanding manufacturing environment?

A well-established engineering and manufacturing business near Malton is looking for a Quality Manager to lead its Quality function. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for quality assurance and control across manufacture, assembly, testing and delivery.

You’ll have the autonomy to drive standards, develop your team and strengthen quality performance, while working closely with customers, suppliers and senior stakeholders.

As Quality Manager, you’ll lead the Quality team and take responsibility for maintaining and continually improving the Quality Management System.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading quality assurance and quality control across manufacturing, assembly and testing
• Maintaining and improving the QMS in line with ISO 9001 and relevant industry standards
• Managing internal and external audits and supporting continued certification
• Leading customer quality activity, including audits, witness testing, concessions and performance reviews
• Driving supplier quality improvements and supporting supplier audits
• Ensuring effective material, component and manufacturing record traceability
• Leading investigations into non-conformances and customer quality issues
• Using root cause analysis and quality data to implement corrective and preventative actions
• Overseeing inspection, testing and final product acceptance
• Developing and managing the internal audit programme
• Working closely with Supply Chain to improve supplier quality performance
• Training colleagues on quality policies, processes and procedures
• Leading, developing and motivating the Quality team
• Driving continuous improvement across products, processes and manufacturing operations

You’ll bring established quality experience from an engineering or manufacturing environment, with the ability to combine strong technical knowledge with effective leadership.

• Quality requirements within manufacturing or engineering projects
• Root cause analysis, problem solving and corrective actions
• Multi-discipline manufacturing, including machining and fabrication processes
• Inspection, testing and quality control
• Supplier quality and performance improvement
• Leading and developing quality colleagues
• Continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment

A technical, engineering or manufacturing qualification would be beneficial, although relevant quality experience will also be considered.
