Job summary

Room at the Top Recruitment is recruiting a Quality/Laboratory Technician for a global pharmaceutical client in Newport. The role is a full-time temporary contract for 1 year, Monday to Friday, with an hourly rate up to £17.08 depending on experience and 25 days holiday pro rata.

The Laboratory Technician will support sample processing, data management, and quality control within an ISO17025 environment. You will help maintain equipment, manage reagents, and ensure compliance with SOPs and

Qualifications

Degree in Science or relevant field.
Strong pipetting skills.
Experience and comfort working with chemicals in a lab setting.
Demonstrates effective communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and basic computer skills.
Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Process, log, scan, and accurately track laboratory samples using laboratory information systems and databases.
Support the preparation, handling, and analysis of biological specimens following SOPs.
Prepare reagents, consumables, and laboratory materials for daily testing activities.
Conduct routine quality control checks and assist with calibration and maintenance of equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation to ensure traceability and compliance with ISO17025 and quality standards.
