Job summary

Omega Resource Group is recruiting a Lab Technician to join their team in Leicester. This hands-on role focuses on sample preparation, booking in samples and supporting the day-to-day running of the laboratory.

The ideal candidate will have previous laboratory experience and a scientific degree, be highly organised, reliable and able to work to quality standards. Full training will be provided and an immediate start is available.

Responsibilities

• Book in samples and prepare them for testing
• Carry out routine quality checks on methods and equipment
• Perform basic equipment maintenance when required
• Keep laboratory records and documentation up to date
• Support stock control and order laboratory consumables when needed
• Ensure the laboratory is kept clean, organised and safe
• Follow Health & Safety, COSHH and Good Laboratory Practice procedures
• Work in line with ISO17025 and quality requirements
• Support the wider laboratory team with day‑to‑day activities

Omega are delighted to be supporting a leading laboratory services business in the recruitment of a Laboratory Technician to join their team in Leicester.

This is a hands‑on laboratory role focused on sample preparation, booking in samples and supporting the day‑to‑day running of the laboratory. It would suit someone with previous laboratory experience who is organised, reliable and enjoys working in a structured environment.
