Medik8, a British skincare brand, invites applications for a Quality Lab Analyst to join our Innovation Centre in Aylesbury. You will execute quality control testing, manage equipment, and support compliance within the Quality Management System to ensure products meet standards.

This onsite role offers £30,000 - £32,000 and requires hands-on laboratory experience, with familiarity in pH, viscosity, FTIR, and environmental monitoring.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a regulated production environment (cosmetics/pharma/FMCG).
• Practical testing methodologies: pH, viscometry, FTIR.
• Ability to document quality findings and initiate OOS reporting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for quality or compliance issues.

• Perform routine Environmental Monitoring.

Quality Lab Analyst Medik8•Aylesbury, England, United Kingdom

As our Lab Analyst, you will serve as a core pillar of our Quality team, and be responsible for the execution of quality control testing, equipment management, and compliance activities. This role is integral to the Quality Management System, ensuring that all products and processes adhere to established company and regulatory standards through hands‑on testing, investigation, and diligent adherence to standard operating procedures.

This is an onsite role based at our Innovation Centre in Aylesbury. Salary: £30,000 - £32,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for any quality or compliance issues and proactively turn these around to provide best quality services.
• Perform daily calibrations on lab equipment.
• Conduct conformity testing on all in-house manufactured products, including pH viscosity, density, and FTIR.
• Perform retest activities and extend expiry dates of raw materials or bulks when required.
• Perform routine Environmental Monitoring.
• Raise OOS (Out of Specification) reports and initiate the formal investigation process.
• Perform Microbiological Risk Assessments for planned/unplanned work in the clean rooms.
• Perform investigations into non-conforming products, working with blending and R&D teams to ensure root cause is identified and corrective/preventative actions are in place.
• Act as the main point of contact for external microbiology labs. Ensure all microbiological tests are performed for all bulks and finished products and other required testing by external labs.

What We Are Looking For

• Demonstrable hands‑on experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably within a regulated production environment such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG.
• Practical knowledge of essential physical and chemical testing methodologies, including pH, viscometry, and spectrometry (FTIR).
• Proven capability to conduct structured problem-solving, document quality findings, and initiate OOS reporting procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary operational teams.
• Strong self‑organisation skills with the ability to manage testing workflows autonomously.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience working within Quality Management Systems (QMS) or Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Familiarity with cleanroom practices, environmental monitoring protocols, or microbiological assessment methods.
• Prior exposure to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
