Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Quality Inspector for the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at the Redcar site. You will report to the Site QA/QC lead, promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with project specifications and joint venture requirements.

The role requires experience in QA/QC functions, ISO 9001 knowledge, and relevant welding inspection qualifications, with interaction across suppliers and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in a QA function or QC function with progression into QA via audits and CQI membership.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Familiar with welding inspection and non-destructive testing qualifications (CSWIP/PCN) and safety training requirements.

Responsibilities

• QC Inspector reporting to the Site QA/QC lead and promoting safety culture.
• Ensure quality standards meet project specifications and client requirements.
• Interact with construction teams and suppliers to verify fabrication and installation per ITPs.

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Quality Inspector to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.

What you'll be doing

• QC Inspector reporting to the Site QA/QC lead
• Promote a personal Safety Culture
• Ensure the quality standards of the joint venture and the client are consistently met and compliant with the Specifications
• Encourage continuous improvement across the Project
• Promotion and implementation of the Project Quality Management System and Joint venture process
• Interact with project construction and suppliers in accordance with ITP's to ensure correct fabrication & Installation
• Conversant with fabrication specifications
• Fluent with material certification review
• Participate with Audit activities both at suppliers works and on-site
• Timely, effective and concise reporting
• Promote a disciplined approach to supplier deliverable approval and concurrent review of Life Time Quality Records

Who we're looking for

• Experience working in a QA function or QC function with development into QA via lead audit and CQI membership
• Oversight of subcontractors, compilation and review of lifetime records. Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems
• Maintenance of package status & progress reporting, raising issues and liaising with the project and client QA/QC team
• CSWIP qualified Welding Inspector 3.1 or 3.2
• PCN II Qualified in LPI/MPI/RI
• NEBOSH / IOSH / CCNSG Safety Passport training
• Understanding and familiarity of working within a team culture and JV environment
• Experience of working within a highly regulated industry
• Experienced with major Project delivery
• Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person for the applicable role
