Job summary

Trident Recruitment is seeking a Quality Inspector to join a precision engineering/manufacturing business in Rugby. You will carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections of precision components to ensure compliance with drawings and quality standards.

You will use micrometers, verniers, gauges and CMM equipment, read complex engineering drawings and recordings of results. This is a permanent day shift with overtime opportunities and long-term career prospects.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quality Inspector in engineering/manufacturing.
• Proficient with micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• CMM inspection experience and ability to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision components.

• Operate and inspect components using CMM equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
• Accurately record inspection results and identify non-conforming components.

Job description

Trident Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established precision engineering/manufacturing business based in Rugby.

This is an excellent opportunity for an inspector with a strong engineering background who is confident carrying out dimensional and visual inspection of precision-manufactured components.

The Role

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring manufactured components meet the required drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision components
• Using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other manual measuring equipment
• Operating and inspecting components using CMM equipment
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications
• Accurately recording inspection results and identifying non-conforming components
• Working closely with CNC machinists, production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
• Ensuring components consistently meet customer and internal quality requirements

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

• Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong experience using micrometers, verniers and gauges
• CMM inspection experience
• Ability to confidently read and understand engineering drawings
• Good understanding of dimensional tolerances and precision measurement
• Strong attention to detail

Experience using a Shadow Graph / Optical Comparator would be highly beneficial.

Knowledge or experience of PolyWorks inspection software would also be a strong advantage, although this is not essential.
