Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector for a major civil engineering project in Middleton. You will support the delivery team with independent site inspections and promote a quality-first culture across the project.

Key duties include conducting site inspections, reviewing designs and quality records, and coaching site teams to achieve right-first-time delivery. NHS/NEC contract exposure and CSCS are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience working on civil engineering projects.
• Strong onsite quality inspections and NCR management.
• Knowledge of or exposure to ISO 9001:2015 is desirable.

Are you an experienced Quality Inspector with a background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects?

We're looking for a Quality Inspector to join a major project in Middleton, supporting the delivery team through independent site inspections and promoting a strong quality-first culture across the project.

The Role

• Carry out site inspections during construction and on completion of works.
• Ensure works are delivered in line with approved designs, specifications and quality requirements.
• Identify, investigate and report quality issues and non-conformances (NCRs).
• Support the implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Review quality documentation and handover packs.
• Provide coaching and guidance to site teams to help achieve right-first-time delivery.
• Attend site meetings and work closely with engineers, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Support ongoing quality audits and site surveillances.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working on civil engineering projects
• Strong background in onsite quality inspections and NCR management
• Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Precast concrete
  • Piling
  • Earthworks
  • Surfacing
  • CSCS Card
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Quality-related site experience

Desirable

• Experience on major infrastructure or highways projects
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
• SMSTS
• Understanding of NEC contracts
