Job summary

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join a busy Nottingham engineering/manufacturing team. This hands-on shop-floor role inspects fabricated components to ensure compliance with drawings, tolerances and customer specifications. You will also prepare jobs for despatch, ensuring paperwork and QA docs are correct.

This production-based position requires practical inspection experience and a proactive approach to quality improvement in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quality Inspector or similar role in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment.
• Understanding of tolerances and dimensional inspection.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect manufactured and fabricated components against drawings and tolerances.
• Check parts against customer specifications and documentation.
• Use inspection equipment to perform first-off, in-process and final inspections.
• Identify and report non-conforming products and issues to production.
• Collaborate with production to resolve quality issues and maintain QA standards.
• Ensure all paperwork and quality documentation are complete before despatch.

Quality Inspector

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £13.00-£16.00 per hour, depending on experience

Contract: Perm

Hours: Full-Time, 10:00am-6:00pm shift pattern

About the Role

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Quality Inspector to join a busy manufacturing team in Nottingham.

This is a hands-on shop-floor role within a production environment, inspecting fabricated and manufactured components to ensure they meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, tolerances and required quality standards.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing and checking completed jobs ready for despatch, ensuring all components, quantities, paperwork and quality documentation are correct before goods leave site.

This is a practical production-based position and not a purely office-based quality role.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect manufactured and fabricated components
• Check parts against engineering drawings, tolerances and customer specifications
• Use verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other inspection equipment
• Complete first-off, in-process and final inspections
• Identify and report non-conforming products
• Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues
• Complete inspection and quality documentation
• Ensure measuring equipment is used correctly
• Carry out final inspection of completed components before despatch
• Check jobs are complete and ready to leave site
• Verify correct quantities, paperwork and quality documentation
• Work with production and despatch teams to resolve issues before goods are released
• Support continuous improvement and maintain high quality standards
• Follow all Health & Safety and quality procedures

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, Engineering Inspector or similar manufacturing role
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
• Good understanding of tolerances and dimensional inspection
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Confidence to identify and raise quality concerns

Experience within laser cutting, sheet metal, fabrication, welding or precision engineering would be advantageous.
