This is a hands-on role working within a busy production environment, responsible for ensuring manufactured and fabricated components meet customer drawings, specifications and required quality standards.
The successful candidate will have previous quality inspection experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately and use a range of inspection and measuring equipment.
Inspect manufactured and fabricated components throughout the production process.
Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections.
Check components against engineering drawings, tolerances and customer specifications.
Use measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other inspection tools.
Identify, record and report non-conforming products.
Work closely with production teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
Complete inspection records and relevant quality documentation.
Carry out final inspection of completed jobs prior to despatch.
Verify quantities, paperwork and quality documentation before goods are released.
Liaise with production and despatch teams to resolve any issues prior to dispatch.
Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, Engineering Inspector or similar.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Practical experience using dimensional inspection and measuring equipment.
A good understanding of tolerances and dimensional inspection.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
Strong communication skills and confidence in raising quality concerns.
The ability to work effectively alongside production and engineering teams.
A practical, hands-on approach to quality control.
Experience within laser cutting, sheet metal fabrication, welding, CNC machining, precision engineering or a similar manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
