We are currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join an established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in the design, development and manufacture of composite products.
Quality Inspector Roles and Responsibilities:
- Carry out visual, dimensional and functional inspections of composite components
- Use precision measuring equipment including callipers, micrometres, height gauges and other inspection tools
- Inspect products against engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements
- Identify defects, quality issues and non-conformances and elevate where required
- Complete inspection reports, NCRs, concessions and other quality documentation
- Maintain accurate inspection and quality records
- Check material certification, batch traceability and manufacturing documentation
- Support investigations into quality issues and root cause analysis
- Assist with corrective and preventative actions
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Work closely with Engineering and Production to support continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve inspection methods and quality controls
- Support customer, supplier and third-party audits when required
- Ensure inspection equipment is correctly calibrated and report any calibration requirements
- Support quality plans, control plans, inspection procedures and work instructions
- Promote a strong quality culture and right-first-time approach
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
- Complete timesheets and quality documentation accurately and on time
Quality Inspector Ideal Candidate:
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- 2–3 years' experience within a Quality Inspection or Quality Assurance role in a manufacturing environment
- Experience within composites, aerospace or advanced manufacturing would be advantageous
- Good understanding of quality inspection techniques and manufacturing processes
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience with NCRs, corrective actions and quality documentation
- Confident using precision measuring equipment
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma would be advantageous
- Good communication skills and able to work effectively across Engineering, Production and Quality teams
- Confident using Microsoft Office and electronic Quality Management Systems
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards
Quality Inspector Working Hours:
- Monday – Thursday, 07:30 – 16:00
- Friday, 07:30 – 13:00
- 40 hours a week
