Job summary

Birmingham City Council’s Birmingham Adult Education Service is seeking a Quality Improvement Leader (Teaching and Learning Coach) to drive improvements in teaching, learning and assessment across BAES. You will coach teachers, lead staff training, and support departments in delivering high-quality learning experiences.

You will work across multiple BAES sites, with some on‑site duties, evening hours, and travel between sites.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above.
• Level 3 subject specialist qualification or equivalent experience.
• Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring teachers to improve teaching, learning and assessment.
• Conducting learning walks, classroom visits and deep‑dive activities.
• Providing feedback and facilitating improvement action plans.
• Planning and delivering staff training and coaching activities.
• Analysing learner progress data to drive improvements.
• Sharing innovative teaching resources and online learning strategies.
• Supporting equality, safeguarding and inclusive learning.
