Job summary

SYOS Aerospace in the United Kingdom is establishing a production quality function across wire harness, composite, electronics and engine systems. As Quality Engineer you will own production quality processes, apply APQP, and ensure QMS compliance to meet customer requirements.

You'll collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Engineering to implement robust controls, drive continuous improvement and prepare for customer audits across complex, regulated aerospace

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments, preferably aerospace or defence.
• Strong knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes and how to link risks to quality controls.
• Proven ability to lead PFMEA reviews and develop robust Control Plans.
• Experience with First Article Inspection and EN 9102.
• Familiarity with 8D CAPA methodologies and root-cause analysis.
• Understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards.
• Knowledge of GD&T, MSA and measurement techniques.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality management principles.

Responsibilities

• Apply APQP principles in line with industry standards and develop control plans.
• Manage internal PPAP for in-house parts and coordinate First Article Inspections to EN 9102.
• Establish in-process inspection requirements and support qualification of critical processes.
• Own nonconformances, containment, root cause investigations and CAPA actions.
• Review acceptance test records and ensure quality evidence is complete before release.
• Maintain traceability, build records and calibration systems for audits.
• Train operators in inspection and defect recognition; collaborate with Production and Supply Chain to improve quality performance.
