Job summary

SYOS UK is seeking a hands-on Quality Inspector to oversee goods receipt, in-process production and final inspection. You will work with the Quality Manager and production teams to ensure components, assemblies and finished products meet the required quality standards.

As you build competence, you'll expand into broader inspection areas and authorise related checks. Initially you will perform in-process inspections before transferring routine checks to trained operators, then progress to

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings and using hand metrology equipment.
• Experience in aerospace, defence or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Commitment to accurate inspection and meticulous record-keeping.
• Ability to manage nonconformances with production teams.
• Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections across goods receipt, in-process production and final inspection, following inspection and control plans and recording results.
• Review certificates, material documentation, batch/lot information, shelf life, packaging and dimensional requirements during receiving inspections.
• Conduct in-process checks on harness workmanship, torque, sealing, composites and assembly completeness.
• Independently verify critical and safety-critical characteristics requiring quality sign-off.
• Coach and audit operator inspection activities during transition of routine inspections.
• Complete final inspection activities including configuration, traceability, labeling and build records.
• Identify and control non-conforming product, raise nonconformances and support containment.
