Job summary

Skanska Costain STRABAG Joint Venture is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Shafts & Headhouses Delivery team on the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. You will manage independent site inspections, coordinate with the Client on issues, and ensure timely documentation and non-conformances are raised to maintain quality across the works.

The role requires on-site verification, collaboration with the delivery team and subcontractors, and adherence to ISO 9001:2015 quality management practices.

Qualifications

• Experience on a major infrastructure project in a quality role.
• Experience working on civil engineering projects.
• Computer skills with MS Word and Excel.
• CSCS card held and on-site quality training completed.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Be proactive in preventing substandard works by coaching and training.
• Prioritise quality assurance to achieve right first time delivery.
• Communicate QA requirements with delivery teams and subcontractors.
• Inspect on-site works during progress and on completion for conformity with information packages.
• Raise and manage non-conformances with the Quality Manager.
• Carry out formal surveillances to ensure inspections and tests meet plans.
• Ensure the delivery team notifies HS2 or the Supervisor of intervention points.
• Provide support and holiday cover to the Quality Manager.
• Adhere to SCSJV Core Values and sustainability policies on all duties.
