Job summary

SCS Railways is recruiting a Quality Inspector to join the Completions & Transitions team on the HS2 London Tunnels project. You will manage independent site inspections and provide assurance that works meet information and design requirements.

The role focuses on training, coaching, and on-site quality control, with opportunities to support other inspectors and develop within the delivery teams; the position is permanent and based in London.

Qualifications

• Experience within quality related role on a major infrastructure project.
• Experience of working on Civil engineering projects.
• Computer competence (MS Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems is desired.

Responsibilities

• Be proactive in preventing substandard Works by coaching and providing training.
• To be the arbiter between all parties on any quality related issues, preventing them being raised directly to the Project Director where possible without compromising quality.
• Ensure that quality management is given the highest priority in delivery in the delivery of their works to achieve right first time.
• Communicate with delivery team and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements.
• Check the works during progress and on completion to ensure that it has been constructed in line with the Work Information.
• Communicate to the Quality Managers and Quality Engineers any non-conformances.
• Ensure that inspection and tests are carried out in line with the inspection and test plans, Safe System of Work for the controlling the works and that all necessary documentation is produced in a timely manner.
• Assist the Quality engineers in carrying out site surveillances.
• In addition to the above discipline role, the Quality Inspectors must carry out his/her duties in accordance with the SCSJV Core Values.
