Job summary

Porvair Filtration Group is seeking a Quality professional to ensure products consistently meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, partners, and internal teams to drive continuous improvements across the product lifecycle.

The role focuses on leading complaint resolution, fault investigations, APQP/PPAP activities to AS9145, and supporting AS9102 verification.

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualifications (minimum ONC/HNC).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, with GD&T knowledge.
  • Ability to inspect components to drawing requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry quality registration schemes and certification processes (ISO9001, AS9100 and NADCAP).
  • Understanding of engineering design and product reliability concepts and tool sets.
  • Knowledge of gauging and basic understanding of product material properties.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts and tools.
  • Knowledge of System and process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
  • Understanding of problem-solving methods i.e. 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated tools used to analyse problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer quality requirements related to orders and ensure correct implementation.
  • Provide Quality customer interface and expertise to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including leading complaint resolution.
  • Conduct fault investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken.
  • Solve technical product/process and business process problems using structured approaches such as 8D.
  • Support the Quality Team in data collection and analysis to implement quality improvements.
  • Host customer and participate in third-party audits, managing non-conformances through to closure.
  • Audit internal and supplier Quality Systems and close out non-conformances.
  • Evaluate potential and existing suppliers for use within the company ASL.
  • Coordinate APQP activities and complete PPAP documentation to AS9145 standards.
  • Provide support in compiling product verification documentation to AS9102 (FAIR).
  • Develop and analyse statistical data to recommend improvements.
  • Participate in product development and launch activities including reliability analysis and design reviews.
  • Provide support in process capability, control plans, and process audits.
  • Investigate and eliminate causes of quality problems and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Participate in design, procurement, maintenance, and evaluation of gauges and test equipment.
  • Complete release documentation including C of C and Data Dossier for shipping.

What You\’ll Be Doing
  • Review of customer quality requirements related to orders ensuring their correct implementation.
  • Provide Quality customer interface and expertise to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including leading complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action execution.
  • Conduct of fault investigations relating to non-conformance identified both internally and externally ensuring adequate and suitable corrective and preventative actions are taken.
  • Solve technical product / process and business process problems utilizing structured approaches such as 8D.
  • Support and drives the Quality Team working in the manufacturing area relative to the collection and analysis of quality data providing expertise and ensuring product and process quality requirements are implemented through business Policies and Quality Best Practice deployment.
  • Host customer / participate in 3 rd party audits, including managing though to closure of any non-conformances raised.
  • Participate in the auditing of internal and supplier Quality Systems, including report writing and management though to closure of any non-conformances raised.
  • Evaluate potential and existing suppliers for use within the company ASL.
  • Coordinate APQP activities and complete PPAP documentation to AS9145 standards and assure that customer requirements are met in new or modified products and processes.
  • Provide support in compiling product verification documentation to AS9102 (FAIR).
  • Develop and analyse statistical data and product/process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas.
  • Participate in product development and launch activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material testing.
  • Provide support in the way of development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits.
  • Investigate and eliminates causes of quality problems and follows up on corrective actions.
  • Participate in the design, procurement, maintenance, and evaluation of gauges, measurement instruments, devices, and test equipment.
  • Completion of any release documentation, including C of C’s and Data Dossier’s required to permit shipping of product.
What We\’re Looking For
  • Engineering qualifications (minimum ONC/HNC).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, with GD&T knowledge.
  • Ability to inspect components to drawing requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry quality registration schemes and certification processes (i.e., ISO9001, AS9100 and NADCAP)
  • Understanding of engineering design and product reliability concepts and tool sets.
  • Knowledge of gauging and basic understanding of product material properties.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination.
  • Detailed knowledge of System and process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
  • Understanding of problem-solving methods i.e.8D, root cause analysis, and the associated tools used to analyse problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques (Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • Aerospace, automotive, medical or nuclear industry experience.
  • Proficiency with digital quality tools (QMS and NCR databases)
  • Knowledge of NADCAP special processes.
Experience Required
  • Able to work autonomously and make data-driven decisions within defined authority limits.
  • Acting under own motivation
  • Minimum of 2 years within a Quality discipline.
Personal skills required
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work in cross-functional process improvement teams.
