Job summary

Porvair Filtration Group seeks a commercially minded procurement professional to develop and maintain a high-performing global supply chain. You will lead strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and ensure on-time delivery, quality and compliance while collaborating with Design Engineering and cross-functional teams to secure continuity of supply.

Qualifications

• CIPS / APICS or relevant supply chain qualification.
• Ability to read technical drawings would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of materials and surface treatment specifications, particularly metals.
• Working experience of ERP / MRP systems.
• Negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Mechanical component/machining engineering background or apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and developing suppliers for mechanical components, subcontract processing and materials
• Technical and delivery performance management of suppliers
• Evaluating new and potential suppliers
• Obtaining/negotiating pricing, to meet expectations and budget
• Raising of Purchase orders, ensuring price, delivery, technical, quality and commercial specifications are correctly defined
• Raising of works orders for sub-contracted processes
• Monitor supplier performance ensuring supplier quality/delivery matrixes are met
• New Product Development support such as design-for-manufacturing
• Facilitate effective communications between internal and external stakeholders
• Formation of Long-term agreements to manage business relationships

About the Role

Are you a commercially minded procurement professional who thrives on building strong supplier relationships and delivering results? Join us and play a vital role in developing and maintaining a high-performing global supply chain. From strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations to ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and compliance, you’ll directly influence operational success. Working closely with Design Engineering and cross-functional teams, you’ll help secure continuity of supply, support new product introductions, and drive value across the business through effective supplier management and procurement excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Establishing and developing suppliers for mechanical components, subcontract processing and materials
• Technical and delivery performance management of suppliers

What We’re Looking For
