Job summary

WR Engineering in the United Kingdom is seeking a Quality Engineer to support a new automotive assembly operation in Stoke-on-Trent. The role focuses on embedding quality into processes from day one within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

The candidate will establish quality controls, conduct audits, monitor KPIs, and lead CAPA efforts while supporting engineering changes and new product launches. A degree in a relevant field and 3+ years in automotive quality are expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in automotive quality engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Knowledge of VDA 6.3 / VDA 6.5 auditing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain quality control processes in line with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of assembly operations.
  • Monitor quality KPIs including scrap, defects, and customer complaints.
  • Lead root cause analysis and CAPA actions.
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes (APQP).
  • Maintain quality documentation (Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP).
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams on quality issues.
  • Train production staff on quality standards and best practices.

Quality Engineer - Automotive Assembly - to £52k

We are recruiting a Quality Engineer to support a brand new automotive assembly operation. This role offers a unique opportunity to embed quality into processes from day one, working in a fast-paced and evolving manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain quality control processes in line with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
  • Conduct audits and inspections of assembly operations
  • Monitor quality KPIs including scrap, defects, and customer complaints
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes (APQP)
  • Maintain quality documentation (Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP)
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams on quality issues
  • Train production staff on quality standards and best practices
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in automotive quality engineering
