Job summary

WR Engineering in the United Kingdom is seeking a Quality Engineer for automotive assembly. You will embed quality into processes from day one in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in automotive quality engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Knowledge of VDA 6.3 / VDA 6.5 auditing standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain quality control processes in line with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of assembly operations.
  • Monitor quality KPIs including scrap, defects, and customer complaints.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes (APQP).
  • Maintain quality documentation (Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP).
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams on quality issues.
  • Train production staff on quality standards and best practices.
