Job summary

SWARCO UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to lead QA and continuous improvement across manufacturing and engineering operations in Melsonby, United Kingdom. The role focuses on maintaining ISO management systems, driving CAPA, and supporting NPI with a culture of quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO management systems and CE/UKCA marking requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • ASQ CQE or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience implementing or maintaining 5S methodologies.
  • Experience using Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and digital quality platforms.
  • Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and/or IOSH.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve quality assurance processes, procedures and ISO management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with CE and UKCA certification requirements.
  • Lead root cause investigations and drive robust Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA).
  • Plan, conduct and coordinate internal, customer and supplier audits, ensuring timely close-out of findings.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation to establish quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyse quality performance data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Champion quality throughout New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring quality is embedded into both products and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation including inspection plans, FMEAs, control plans and associated records.
  • Manage non-conformance processes and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers to improve supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with business and customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma and 5S methodologies.
  • Support a proactive culture of quality, safety and operational excellence across the organisation.

SWARCO UK & Ireland is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance and continuous improvement activities across our manufacturing and engineering operations.

This is a key role responsible for ensuring our products, processes and services consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements and company quality standards. Working closely with engineering, production, suppliers and customers, you will champion a culture of quality, compliance and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining our ISO management systems, driving corrective actions, supporting new product introduction and delivering operational excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities
