• Experience in a Quality Engineering role within manufacturing/engineering.
• Knowledge of ISO management systems and CE/UKCA marking.
• Internal Auditor qualification (ISO) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and improve QA processes and ISO systems.
• Lead CAPA investigations and robust corrective actions.
• Plan and coordinate internal, customer and supplier audits.
• Review drawings and specs to set quality standards.
• Monitor quality data to identify trends and risks.
• Support NPI with quality considerations, embedding processes.
• Maintain quality documentation including FMEAs and control plans.
• Drive supplier quality improvements and non-conformance actions.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma and 5S continuous improvement initiatives.

SWARCO UK & Ireland is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance and continuous improvement activities across our manufacturing and engineering operations.

Quality Engineer

This is a key role responsible for ensuring our products, processes and services consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements and company quality standards. Working closely with engineering, production, suppliers and customers, you will champion a culture of quality, compliance and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining our ISO management systems, driving corrective actions, supporting new product introduction and delivering operational excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve quality assurance processes, procedures and ISO management systems.
• Ensure compliance with CE and UKCA certification requirements.
• Lead root cause investigations and drive robust Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA).
• Plan, conduct and coordinate internal, customer and supplier audits, ensuring timely close-out of findings.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation to establish quality standards.
• Monitor and analyse quality performance data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Champion quality throughout New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring quality is embedded into both products and manufacturing processes.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation including inspection plans, FMEAs, control plans and associated records.
• Manage non-conformance processes and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented.
• Work collaboratively with suppliers to improve supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with business and customer requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma and 5S methodologies.
• Support a proactive culture of quality, safety and operational excellence across the organisation.

Profile

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Previous experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO management systems and CE/UKCA marking requirements.
• Internal Auditor qualification (ISO).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality data analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple departments.
• Able to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Desirable

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent qualification.
• Lead Auditor qualification.
• Experience implementing or maintaining 5S methodologies.
• Experience using Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and digital quality platforms.
• Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and/or IOSH.
