Job summary

QCS Staffing is seeking a Quality Engineer for a UK Chester-based initial 6-18 month contract in Life Sciences. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement in quality, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and quality tools to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

You will analyse quality metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement sustainable corrective actions. Cross-functional RCA facilitation will be key to reducing defects and improving process capability while

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in medical devices.
• Understanding of medical device regulatory requirements.
• Experience with CAPA and NC processes.
• Basic familiarity with eQMS or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and quality tools to improve product quality and process efficiency.
• Analyse quality metrics and trends to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Facilitate cross-functional problem solving, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), to reduce defects and improve process capability.
• Support risk reduction, cost reduction, and process optimization while ensuring regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Deliver

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and quality engineering tools to enhance product quality, process performance, and operational efficiency.
• Analyse quality metrics and trend data to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving activities, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), to reduce defects and improve process capability.
• Support the development and implementation of risk reduction, cost reduction, and process optimisation projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.

What you’ll need:

• Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably within the medical device industry but not essential.
• Understand medical device regulatory requirements
• Basic knowledge and experience of CAPA and NC.
• Basic Understanding of eQMS systems or similar.
