NW Recruitment Services Ltd are proudly supporting a specialist Rossendale-based business with the recruitment of a Quality Engineer to join their Quality team on a temporary contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer or quality professional with a background in a regulated manufacturing environment to support investigations, corrective actions and ongoing improvements across the business.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Quality Engineer or similar in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CAPA, root-cause analysis and non-conformance management.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, control plans).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support investigations into quality issues, including corrective and preventative actions.
  • Carry out structured root-cause analysis and identify appropriate corrective actions.
  • Manage non-conformances and NCRs, ensuring investigations, actions and records are completed accurately.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor corrective actions through to completion and verify their effectiveness.
  • Review and support improvements to quality procedures, work instructions and process controls.
  • Assist with maintaining and developing the Quality Management System.
  • Analyse quality information, including NCRs, trends and other performance data, to identify recurring issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process and quality improvement based on data and findings.
  • Provide practical quality support within the manufacturing environment.
  • Prepare quality reports, investigation records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, customer requirements and associated quality activities.
  • Ensure quality activities and documentation are completed in accordance with established procedures and applicable standards.

Location: Rossendale, Lancashire

Salary Equivalent: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm | Friday 8:30am - 1:30pm

Contract: Temporary contract

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer or quality professional with a background in a regulated manufacturing environment to support investigations, corrective actions and ongoing improvements across the business.

Working closely with manufacturing, engineering and other internal teams, you will play an important role in identifying the causes of quality issues, implementing effective solutions and ensuring robust processes are maintained.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and support investigations into quality issues, including corrective and preventative actions.
  • Carry out structured root-cause analysis and identify appropriate corrective actions.
  • Manage non-conformances and NCRs, ensuring investigations, actions and records are completed accurately.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.

Skills & experience
  • Previous experience working as a Quality Engineer or in a similar quality-focused position.
  • Experience within medical devices, medical manufacturing or as a supplier to the medical-device industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 13485 and working within a regulated quality environment.
  • Demonstrable experience with CAPA, root-cause analysis and non-conformance management.
  • Experience using structured problem-solving techniques such as 5-Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa or similar methodologies.
  • Good understanding of quality tools and techniques such as FMEA, SPC and control plans.
  • Experience working closely with manufacturing, production or engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with the confidence to investigate issues and challenge processes where appropriate.
  • Experience with an electronic QMS, such as Q-Pulse or a similar system, would be advantageous.
  • Experience within machining, polymer processing or another precision manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
