Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers is seeking a Quality Design Engineer to join a Defence and Aerospace client in a design and manufacturing setting. You will drive engineering quality improvements and work with industry-leading teams to grow your skills within the company and industry.

You will lead root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, manage risks, and promote quality standards across engineering activities. Strong IT and PLM/PDM knowledge are required to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering root cause analysis and problem solving in engineering.
• Background in design or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of FMEA and risk mitigation.
• Proficient IT skills (Google Workspace / MS Office) and PLM/PDM awareness.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and modification management.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate root cause analysis and practical problem solving.
• Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans.

As the Quality Design Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Drive and deliver improvement projects in order to support the achievement of the Engineering quality targets
• Facilitate and support root cause analysis & practical problem solving activities
• Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans in order to support the improvement of engineering quality performance and its associated deliverables
• Identify risks/issues relating to the quality of the engineering deliverable and facilitate, support, and drive standardised mitigation plans in order to prevent/mitigate risk linked to the product and its related processes
• Support the deployment of Quality standards and apply them within the Engineering organisation
• Capture lessons learned in order to improve organisation efficiency and product maturity
• Quality and/or Engineering Experience
• Project Management knowledge
• Understanding of Failure modes effects analysis
• Understanding of root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 9S, 8D etc.)
• Have excellent IT skills as appropriate to the role (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office)
• Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management and Product Data Management Systems
• Understanding of Engineering Drawing and Modification management
• Experience in a Design or Manufacturing Engineering Environment
