Job description

We are looking for a Time-Served Quality Department Inspector with metal manufacturing experience to work on a permanent basis for our client, a well-established company based in Skelmersdale.

The Package and Work Pattern for the Quality Department Inspector Role:

1. Salary: £29,000 - £31,000 per annum
2. Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (Additional hours may be required as needed)
3. Discretionary company bonus scheme, paid quarterly and consistently during recent years

Key Responsibilities for the Quality Department Inspector Role:

1. Ensure all customer-supplied products are fully measured using appropriate inspection techniques
2. Understand and interpret customer-supplied manufacturing drawings and work scopes
3. Produce customer-stipulated quality documentation and ensure correct supply with processed items
4. Document inspection and testing procedures in accordance with Route Sheets, Quality Plans, and Data cards
5. Report all instances of non-conformance and liaise with the Head of Quality
6. Document all required inspection data and report in the correct manner
7. Sign off Certificates of Conformity and Delivery Notes reports
8. Compile customer-required documentary packages
9. Ensure inspection equipment used is in a known state of calibration
10. Maintain the unique identity and status of handled products
11. Work safely and follow company safety codes

1. Strong understanding of customer fully manufactured / stage inspection drawings and work scopes
2. Ability to ensure supplied product gives customer satisfaction
3. Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
4. Strong communication skills for liaising with various departments
5. Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Flexibility to work additional hours when required

Essential Qualifications for the Quality Department Inspector Role:

1. Fully time-served with relevant experience in quality inspection
2. Experience in metal manufacturing

Desirable Qualifications/Skills for the Quality Department Inspector Role:

1. CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) experience
