Quality Control Technician

Birstall

Full time | Permanent

To ensure all incoming Raw Materials, Manufactured Intermediates, and Finished Products meet pre-set specifications in a timely manner.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Test all batches of incoming Raw Materials, Manufactured Intermediates, and Finished Products according to the specifications and ISO 9001 Quality Assurance System.
2. Establish corrective actions for non-conforming products.
3. Make corrections to production batches using the Integrated Process Control and management system (Datastor).
4. Make final acceptance decisions on weekly production and raw materials, including significant quantities and values.
5. Record and report non-conformances and undertake corrective actions promptly.
6. Manage process control from the point of testing.
7. Identify trends in non-conforming products for investigation.
8. Retain representative samples and documentation for batch traceability per ISO 9001.
9. Accurately record all test results for audits and reviews.
10. Perform system modifications in Datastor, including drop-offs and batch management.
11. Conduct effluent testing, maintain records, and uphold good laboratory practices through 5S principles.
12. Maintain and improve monthly 5S audit scores.
13. Assist in training new staff and support team integration.
14. Test and adjust products to specifications using lab equipment, recording data accurately.

Requirements:

• Normal colour vision and good aptitude for colour evaluation.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Knowledge of SAP, Datastor, and OEE systems is desirable but not essential.

Dimensions:

• Control of all batches within the shift, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
• Use prescribed procedures and test methods for measurement and recording results.
• Make batch decisions based on test results and manage non-conformances.
