Job summary

NMB Minebea UK in Lincoln is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead the QC department of 30+ engineers, delivering world-class quality, safety, and on-time delivery within a precision aerospace environment.

You will embed ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP compliance, drive root-cause analysis, support inspectors, and report on NCRs, KPIs, and supplier performance while promoting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or HNC/D in engineering required or equivalent.
• Proven leadership and track record in improving team performance.
• Experience in QA/QC within a regulated environment and leading large teams.
• Hands-on leadership with strong communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Control function (30+ engineers and inspectors) and set clear roles.
• Embed aerospace QMS procedures (ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP) across the site.
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce non-conformances with regular reporting.
• Support inspectors with best-practice inspection methods and root-cause analyses.
• Perform 8D and 5 Why investigations and ensure AS9102 First Article compliance.
• Monitor KPIs, NCRs, customer issues, and supplier performance.

Are you an experienced Quality professional with strong leadership skills, ready to lead a full Quality Control function and drive world-class standards, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance in a precision engineering environment?

Our exclusive client NMB Minebea UK, part of a global manufacturing group with operations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, is renowned for precision engineering and the production of mission-critical components.

This Quality Control Manager role is based in Lincoln. You will lead the Quality Control department (30+ engineers and inspectors), ensuring high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement while embedding a culture of world-class manufacturing and aerospace regulatory compliance across the site.

As the Quality Control Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrating strong leadership to organise the Quality Control function, set clear expectations, and ensure every area understands its role in quality assurance, quality control, and compliance deliverables
• Performing training gap analysis across all quality functions and establishing clear strategies to upskill the team
• Maintaining a hands-on, visible presence on the shop floor and across the business
• Ensuring full company compliance with aerospace QMS procedures (ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, etc.)
• Supporting inspectors in driving best-practice inspection methods
• Leading root-cause analysis investigations using proven problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and 5 Why
• Ensuring compliance with First Article Inspection Reports to AS9102
• Overseeing company-wide environmental compliance procedures to ISO 14001
• Driving reduction of non-conformances, timely resolution of manufacturing/production issues, and effective continuous improvement through regular reporting on NCRs, KPIs, customer issues, shop-floor deviations/concessions, and supplier performance

As the Quality Control Manager you will bring:

Essential

• Apprenticeship, HNC/D (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
• Strong leadership capability with a proven track record of improving team performance
• Background in quality assurance and quality control within a highly regulated environment
• Ability to lead a large quality function
• Demonstrable experience resolving manufacturing issues using 8D, 5 Why, and similar methodologies
• Hands-on approach to leadership with a willingness to be visible across all areas
• Very strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
• Inspection and metrology experience
• Competent in all Microsoft packages with strong overall IT skills

Desirable

• Degree in an engineering discipline
• Aerospace manufacturing environment experience
• Experience with aerospace standards such as AS9100, AS9102, NADCAP, etc.
• Knowledge of aerospace regulatory compliance (CAA, EASA, FAA)
• Knowledge of machining processes and non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures
