Job summary

NMB Minebea UK in Lincoln seeks a Quality Control Manager to lead a 20+ strong QC team, embedding world-class manufacturing standards and aerospace regulatory compliance across the site.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage non-conformances, and ensure safety, quality and delivery standards are achieved through strong leadership and hands-on presence on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a large quality function in a highly regulated environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proven track record in aerospace quality standards.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP.
• Hands-on leadership with visibility on the shop floor.
• Experience with 8D and 5 Whys problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Organise and lead the Quality Control function, set expectations across QA/QC and compliance.
• Train gap analysis and upskill the quality team.
• Maintain hands-on leadership on shop floor and across the business.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace QMS procedures (ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP).
• Support inspectors in best-practice inspection methods.
• Drive NCR reductions and KPI reporting for quality improvements.

Quality Control Manager – NMB Minebea UK (Lincoln)

Are you an experienced Quality professional with strong leadership skills, ready to lead a full Quality Control function and drive world-class standards, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance in a precision engineering environment?

Our exclusive client NMB Minebea UK, part of a global manufacturing group with operations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, is renowned for precision engineering and the production of mission-critical components.

This Quality Control Manager role is based in Lincoln. You will lead the Quality Control department (20+ engineers and inspectors), ensuring high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement while embedding a culture of world‑class manufacturing and aerospace regulatory compliance across the site.

As the Quality Control Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrating strong leadership to organise the Quality Control function, set clear expectations, and ensure every area understands its role in quality assurance, quality control, and compliance deliverables
• Performing training gap analysis across all quality functions and establishing clear strategies to upskill the team
• Maintaining a hands‑on, visible presence on the shop floor and across the business
• Ensuring full company compliance with aerospace QMS procedures (ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, etc.)
• Supporting inspectors in driving best‑practice inspection methods
• Leading root‑cause analysis investigations using proven problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D and 5 Why
• Ensuring compliance with First Article Inspection Reports to AS9102
• Overseeing company‑wide environmental compliance procedures to ISO 14001
• Driving reduction of non‑conformances, timely resolution of manufacturing/production issues, and effective continuous improvement through regular reporting on NCRs, KPIs, customer issues, shop‑floor deviations/concessions, and supplier performance

As the Quality Control Manager you will bring:

Essential

• Apprenticeship, HNC/D (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
• Strong leadership capability with a proven track record of improving team performance
• Background in quality assurance and quality control within a highly regulated environment
• Ability to lead a large quality function
• Demonstrable experience resolving manufacturing issues using 8D, 5 Why, and similar methodologies
• Hands‑on approach to leadership with a willingness to be visible across all areas
• Very strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
• Inspection and metrology experience
• Competent in all Microsoft packages with strong overall IT skills

Desirable

• Degree in an engineering discipline
• Aerospace manufacturing environment experience
• Experience with aerospace standards such as AS9100, AS9102, NADCAP, etc.
• Knowledge of aerospace regulatory compliance (CAA, EASA, FAA)
• Knowledge of machining processes and non‑destructive testing (NDT) procedures

Hours of work Day Shift Monday to Thursday 07:30–16:00 Friday 07:30–12:30
