Job description

HMH in Kintore are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated QC Inspector to support the team with dimensional inspections, NDT, and ideally, weld inspections.

Job Responsibilities

1. Inspect components dimensionally and visually based on drawings and datasheets in line with current processes and procedures.
2. Review and report on product quality non-conformance reports (NCRs) and system failures to drive continuous improvements and reduce failure costs.
3. Verify that equipment manufactured, assembled, tested within the facility conforms to applicable specifications and customer requirements.
4. Carry out Non-Destructive Tests on Welds, Structures, and Materials (MPI, LPI, DPT, UT).
5. Material testing (Hardness, PMI).
6. Produce clear and concise test reports.
7. Maintain NDE Equipment.
8. Maintain quality relationships with key functions of the company, including fulfilment, engineering, projects, and procurement.
9. Support development and maintenance of the local Quality Management System.
10. Ensure compliance with project HSSE Plan, Quality Plan, and related requirements.
11. Review, approve, or reject all supplier documents in ERP system.
12. Inspect consumable components (verification, dimensional, etc.) in accordance with standard part requirements and drawings.
13. Perform receiving inspections of incoming materials and/or products, including customer property.
14. Support the warehouse on traceability issues.
15. Assist in the calibration team with in-house calibration and verification of outsourced calibration activities.
16. Manage efforts to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) by implementing effective solutions in collaboration with relevant teams.
17. Provide CWI support when required for all welding-related activities on site. (CSWIP would be advantageous.)
18. Support global quality standards, objectives, and goals.

Qualifications and Training

1. NDE Level II.
2. CWI or CSWIP would be advantageous (or ability to achieve).
3. ISO 9001 or API Q1 certification would be advantageous.
4. Counterbalance Forklift certificate (B1).
5. Experience using gauges, such as calipers, micrometers, and hardness testers to measure and inspect products (metric and imperial).
6. Experience in manufacturing quality, quality control, and quality assurance.

Desired Characteristics

1. Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
2. Knowledge of packaging manufacturing operations.
