Job Description:

This is an opportunity to work for a leading O&G machining service provider specializing in the premium threading and general machining of oil tools. As Quality Control Inspector you will play a key role in ensuring machined components are fully compliant with stringent client and licensed standards whilst providing a balance between cost-effectiveness and quality control. You will ensure correct implementation of quality plans and monitor the pipeline of QC Inspection activities for all testing on a daily basis. This is a critical role within the operation of the business and as such requires a high degree of competency in the use of measurement and gauging as well as the drive to monitor and improve methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect Machined Parts: Perform thorough inspections of all machined and manufactured parts to ensure compliance with client and licensed standards.
  • Material Certification: Review and approve all material certifications to guarantee quality and compliance.
  • Traceability: Allocate trace numbers to work orders, ensuring accurate tracking and traceability.
  • Calibration Maintenance: Maintain and manage the calibration system for all measurement instruments and gauges.
  • 3rd Party Inspections: Host and coordinate with 3rd party inspectors to ensure seamless inspection processes.
  • Quality Plan Implementation: Ensure the correct implementation of quality plans and monitor daily QC inspection activities.
  • Professionalism & Customer Care: Uphold a high standard of professionalism, with customer care as a priority.
  • Housekeeping & Compliance: Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and ensure compliance with HSE legislation and company policy.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Support other departments and perform additional duties as required by business needs and line management.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Shift Availability: Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern, alternating between day and night shifts in 2-week blocks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; comfortable using the latest inspection and measuring tools.
  • Engineering Manufacturing: Experience in an engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Quality Management: Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and adherence to quality assurance procedures.
  • Customer Focus: Imbued with a strong sense of customer focus (internal/external).
  • Oilfield Expertise: Time-served oilfield engineer with knowledge of premium threading, specifically Vallourec/Tenaris.
  • Experience: Strong background in machining and inspection.
  • VAM Qualification: Possession of VAM qualification.
  • Technical Learning: Capable of keeping up with an evolving portfolio of products and services.
