Job description

Responsibilities

1. Manage defects and their rectification, ensuring NCRs are raised and tracked.
2. Ensure compliance with and understand the impact of Employer works information, specifications, and instructions.
3. Contribute input to project quality reports.
4. Complete required reports.
5. Support off-site inspections.
6. Witness material inspections, conduct material testing, and review test results within specific qualifications and experience.
7. Perform Quality Control inspections on site during track construction and oversee quality checks by construction teams.
8. Witness completion of Quality Control checklists for all track construction activities.
9. Ensure all site Quality Control activities are conducted according to the track Inspection and Test Plan at all stages of construction.
10. Monitor the Inspection and Test Plan for witness, validation, and acceptance activities.
11. Assist the Quality Control Manager on all quality-related matters, including delivery of quality standards.
12. Support inspections carried out by the Independent Third Party Inspection Authority.
13. Assist in preparing and developing Inspection and Test Plans and related quality documentation.
14. Provide operational and functional support to ensure works and management systems are completed "At Each Stage, Right First Time Every Time".
15. Participate in quality audits of projects, suppliers, and contractors as requested.
16. Monitor and report on the implementation of company policies and procedures.
17. Assist in collecting and compiling project objectives, targets, and KPI data.
18. Support the development and delivery of Quality training courses.
19. Ensure all required certifications are available and copies obtained during construction.
20. Liaise with client Quality Control counterparts.
21. Raise Non-Conformance Reports related to track construction works.
22. Maintain and archive all track Quality Control records.
23. Support the compilation and review of Lifetime Quality Records.
24. Ensure traceability of materials throughout the construction process.
25. Provide ongoing work performance information.
26. Witness FATs, SATs, and inspections of permanent and temporary works based on risk, operational experience, and quality indicators.
27. Oversee change requests and concessions, including sign-off and completion prior to construction.
28. Support in verifying that work has been correctly delivered on or off site.

Requirements

1. Previous experience in quality assurance and inspections in projects of similar size and complexity.
2. Experience in Civil engineering projects.
3. Ability to obtain SC Clearance.
4. Nuclear/MOD experience is desirable.

Essential Qualifications

• HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in a similar field.

Desirable Qualifications

• ISO 9001 Auditor certification.
• Formal training in relevant disciplines.
• CSCS Card.
• IOSH certification.
