Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage defects and rectification, ensuring NCRs are raised and tracked.
• Ensure compliance with and assess the impact of Employer works information, specifications, and instructions.
• Provide input to project quality reports.
• Report project completion status.
• Support off-site inspections.
• Witness material inspections, conduct material testing, and review test results within specific qualifications and experience.
• Perform Quality Control inspections on-site during track construction and oversee the quality checks by construction teams.
• Witness completion of Quality Control checklists for all track construction activities.
• Ensure all site Quality Control activities are conducted at each stage of track construction according to the Inspection and Test Plan.
• Monitor the Inspection and Test Plan for witness, validation, and acceptance activities.
• Assist the Quality Control Manager with all quality-related matters, including delivery of quality standards.
• Support inspections conducted by the Independent Third Party Inspection Authority.
• Assist in preparing and developing Inspection and Test Plans and related quality documentation.
• Provide operational and functional support to ensure works and management systems are completed 'At Each Stage, Right First Time Every Time'.
• Participate in quality audits of projects, suppliers, and contractors as required.
• Monitor and report on the implementation of company policies and procedures.
• Assist in collecting and compiling project objectives, targets, and KPI data.
• Support the development and delivery of Quality training courses.
• Ensure availability and proper documentation of all required certifications during construction.
• Liaise with client Quality Control counterparts.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports related to track construction works.
• Maintain and archive all track Quality Control records.
• Support the compilation and review of Lifetime Quality Records.
• Ensure traceability of materials throughout the construction process.
• Provide ongoing work performance information.
• Witness FATs, SATs, and assess permanent and temporary works based on risk, operational experience, and quality indicators.
• Oversee change requests and concessions, ensuring sign-off and completion before construction.
• Support measurement of work delivery both on and off-site.

Requirements

• Previous experience in quality assurance and inspections on projects of similar size and complexity.
• Experience in Civils projects.
• Ability to obtain SC Clearance.
• Nuclear/MOD experience is desirable.

Qualifications

Essential:

• HND/HNC in Civils or equivalent experience in a similar field.

Desirable:

• ISO 9001 Auditor certification.
• Formal training in relevant disciplines.
• CSCS Card.
• IOSH certification.
