Job description

Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals, and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco, and Sainsbury's, to name a few. Over the past 25 years, Taiko has launched more first-to-market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.

As the Warehouse Quality Control Administrator, you will play a key role in overseeing quality control practices within our warehouse operations. This position involves ensuring that incoming and outgoing products meet quality standards, monitoring storage conditions, conducting inspections, and maintaining compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, organisational skills, and experience in food safety and warehouse operations.

Due to expansion, we are looking for QC Administrators working 7 days a week on a rolling rota from 5 pm to 1 am (additional shift allowance paid).

  • Inspection of Goods-in for quality and quantity, determining usability in production, and rejecting goods not acceptable for food safety.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials (including packaging), ensuring they are within specifications and reporting any out-of-specification items.
  • Monitor storage conditions of raw materials (including packaging) and ensure they remain within specifications during storage and transfer.
  • Check compliance with food safety and QA procedures, including allergen control measures.
  • Ensure proper storage of raw materials.
  • Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) is followed by the raw material team at all times.
  • Maintain warehouse-controlled document files and test records accurately and promptly.
  • Handover record sheets to the Technical department for review.
  • Verify that all delivery notes for Goods-in are signed off for volume, quality, and date by the Warehouse team, including in Miniclipper and Transkold systems.
  • Provide Best Before (BB) dates and batch numbers for each delivery to the Warehouse Systems Controller for accurate stock booking and label creation.
  • Apply labels to all received goods.
  • Process transfers to production daily on Navision, report shortages to the purchasing team and Supply Chain Manager, and manage stock control.
  • Ensure all transfers to Production are recorded accurately.
  • Work closely with and provide cover for the Warehouse Systems Controller in their absence.
  • Assist warehouse staff with their duties if QC tasks are not busy.
  • Keep warehouse areas and yard clean and tidy.
