Job summary

Samworth Brothers in Melton Mowbray is seeking a Quality Auditor Technologist to help keep products safe, compliant, and high quality. You will perform GMP and quality audits, run tests, and provide clear guidance to operations on quality standards.

You’ll work closely with the QA team to identify issues early and support improvements across the factory. The role requires experience in technical, QA or food manufacturing, strong HACCP and GMP knowledge, and excellent communication to influence

Qualifications

  • Experience in technical, QA or food manufacturing roles.
  • Good understanding of HACCP, GMP, allergens and food safety standards.
  • Auditing experience with ability to provide constructive feedback to production teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence others.
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues early and supporting fixes quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out GMP, quality and process audits to ensure the factory meets food safety and customer standards.
  • Raise non-conformances with clear evidence and follow up actions.
  • Complete product checks, organoleptic assessments, micro testing and shelf-life work.
  • Support investigations such as traceability checks and customer complaints.
  • Provide operational teams with technical quality guidance.
  • Assist with NPD trials and product launches by managing testing and quality assessment.
  • Maintain audit records, testing data and quality paperwork.
  • Support QA leadership when issues arise or decisions are needed.

About The Role

As a Quality Auditor Technologist, you help keep products safe, legal and high‑quality. You carry out checks, testing and audits, and you support the operations team by giving clear guidance on quality standards. You also help with investigations, trials and improvements, making sure issues are found early and solved quickly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out GMP, quality and process audits to check the factory meets food safety and customer standards.
  • Raise non conformances with clear evidence and follow up to make sure actions are completed.
  • Complete product checks, organoleptic assessments, micro testing and shelf‑life work.
  • Support investigations such as traceability checks, out‑of‑spec issues and customer complaints.
  • Give operational teams technical advice and help them understand quality standards.
  • Help with NPD trials and product launches by managing testing and assessing product quality.
  • Keep audit records, testing data and quality paperwork accurate and up to date.
  • Support the QA Manager, QA Team Leader and Technical Manager when issues arise or decisions are needed.
