Job summary

Burgessfarms is seeking an experienced Technologist to join our Technical team in Sutton, United Kingdom. This role is key in ensuring quality standards are met and customer orders are completed on time. You will be responsible for conducting internal audits, maintaining compliance, and supporting the Technical Manager during audits.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years in a food supplier QA role and basic computer literacy, among other skills. The salary can reach up to £37,000 based on experience, and we offer various perks, including a Cycle to Work Scheme and life insurance.

Responsibilities

The Job Role

We are looking for a Technologist to join our Technical team, and play a key role in ensuring that quality standards are met, and customer orders are completed on time.

The responsibilities of the roleinclude:

Work within and use the QMS to ensure product safety, legality, quality and customer specifications are always achieved.

A key member of the HACCP Team, attend and participate in all HACCP meetings.

As part of the internal auditing team, you will conduct GMP, Glass, Hygiene and other internal audits to ensure the site meets the safety, quality and legality requirements. The audits will be conducted in line with the auditing schedule, making sure all areas of the business are fully informed of any non-conformances and follow through to closed status.

Attend site meetings as required and prepare accordingly. Voice any quality/technical concerns, sharing any relevant information with the technical team.

Be the ERP specialist for the department

Create and maintain ERP Test templates

Specification writer for the company – Internal and External

Maintain compliance for all customer portals

Support the Technical Manager during industry and customer audits

Assist with Gap Analysis for industry and customer standards

Provide trend data to the Technical Manager for customer complaints, Warnings and Rejections.

Assist with QMS maintenance

Optimise year-on-year quality improvements

Provide cover for the team and line management as and when required.

What we are looking for?

1 year working in a food supplier QA or Technical Role

Basic level of computer literacy

Good numeracy and English levels

Minimum of 2 years working in a food supplier QA or Technical Role

Internal Auditor

Strong English, Maths, and Computer skills
